Full Professor in the Disciplinary Area of Architecture at the University of Beira Interior – Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the Faculty of Engineering. Aggregation exams in Architecture, Specialty of Theory and Practice of Project, by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, in 2019. PhD in Architecture by the Faculty of Architecture – UL in 2008, thesis entitled “Vilegiatura and Place in Portuguese Architecture”. Architect by the Faculty of Architecture – UTL in 1992. Author of Architecture design projects and buildings since 1992. Has received several prizes in Architecture public competitions, with consequent built work. Full member of the CIAUD (Centre for Research in Architecture, Urbanism and Design / Faculty of Architecture, University of Lisbon). Coordinator of the research group “ARCPLAND [Architecture – Place – Landscape]”: Research Group in Architecture, Place and Landscape, whose mission is to promote and conduct research in Architecture and Landscape Architecture, in the fields of Architectural Design, Theory, History, Sustainability, and its relationship with Place, the Heritage and Landscape. Author of the books: “A Quinta de Recreio em Portugal – Vilegiatura, Lugar e Arquitectura” (2013); “A Villa Renascentista – Arquitetura, Jardins e Paisagem. Visão Pluridisciplinar dos Espaços e Vivências da Quinta de Recreio de Conceção Renascentista” (2016); “Quintas e Solares de Conceção Renascentista e Maneirista: Évora, Azeitão, Sintra” (2019) e “Quintas e Solares de Conceção Renascentista e Maneirista – Lisboa, Tomar, Coimbra, Porto” (2019) e “Amílcar Gil Pires – Lugares, Projetos, Obras (2022).
