João Paulo Delgado

João Paulo Delgado was born in Huambo, Angola, in 1963. Graduated from the Lisbon School of Architecture (FAUTL) in 1986. Gained a master’s degree in Contemporary Architectural Culture from FAUTL in 1998, and a PhD degree in Architecture at the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) in 2015. Received scholarship grants from FCT, for both doctoral and postdoctoral research projects. Integrated Researcher at the Porto Architectural School Research Centre (CEAU/FAUP) until 2024, also collaborating with the Centre for Socioeconomic and Territorial Studies (DINÂMIA’CET-ISCTE).

Was senior architect and project manager for several buildings and public space projects in Portugal. Teaches architecture since 1991: lecturer at the Porto Lusíada University School of Architecture from 1991 to 2014, holding classes in architectural design and building technology; from 2016 to 2019, invited assistant professor at the UBI’s Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture; since 2019, assistant professor at the same department, where he headed the integrated master’s in architecture from July 2020 until November 2023.
