Pablo Lamazares Blanco
León, 1991. Architect (2015), Master in Research (2017) and Doctor in Architecture with International Mention and Outstanding cum laude by the University of Valladolid (2023). His research, which has crystallised in his Doctoral Thesis entitled Donald Judd and the construction of specific space. Between art and architecture, has been awarded the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize (2024). He has carried out research stays at the Universitá Iuav di Venezia, Italy, at the Universidade da Beira Interior na Covilhã, Portugal, and at the Judd Foundation in Marfa, Texas. He is currently a researcher at the University of Valladolid, having held a predoctoral and postdoctoral contract there. His studies on the spatial categories in the work of Donald Judd have been published as scientific articles in various indexed journals such as Branca, En Blanco, PPA, Estoa, [i2], Tsantsa, Anales, Rita and VLC, and have been presented at various national and international forums and conferences. It is worth mentioning that he has been awarded a special mention in the 5th Call for the New York Research Fellowship promoted by the Arquia Foundation, in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. He is also a regular researcher of the Recognised Research Group of the University of Valladolid ESPACIAR, having participated in the R&D Projects ESPACIOINST (ref. PGC2018-095359-B-I00, 2019-2021) and DIGITALSTAGE (ref. PID2021-123974NB-I00, 2022-2025), both from the National Research Plan of the Spanish Government.
